V60 Radiator Fan Overheating

Experiencing overheating with my 2019 Volvo V60 gasoline engine (26328 km). Check engine light is on, and diagnostics suggest a defective radiator fan, possibly a faulty speed sensor. Anyone else seen this?

Sounds familiar! I've had radiator fan issues with my V60, too. Overheating and that darned light. Was the fan not running at all, or just erratically?

The fan operation appears intermittent. During overheating, it remains stationary, even when the engine temperature rises. Could you elaborate on your experience?

Yep, that's exactly what I saw. Intermittent operation then complete failure. I'd get it checked out by a workshop ASAP. Could be the fan motor or the thermal switch, but better safe than sorry with overheating.

The workshop confirmed a defective speed sensor, necessitating radiator fan replacement. The repair cost is estimated at 250€.
