V60 Solar Sensor Error

I'm getting a solar sensor error on my 2012 Volvo V60 with a gasoline engine, and the heating output seems low. Thoughts on what might cause this?

I also have a V60, and your issue sounds familiar. A faulty connection at the solar sensor could cause those symptoms. The sensor measures the sun's intensity, influencing the climate control system. A bad reading will throw things off. Have you checked the cable and plug connection of the sensor itself?

Where exactly is this sensor located, and what am I looking for in terms of a 'bad connection'? Is it something I can easily check myself, or should I take it to a professional? I am not really familiar with fault detection, especially in automotive sensors.

On my V60, the solar sensor is located on the dashboard, near the windshield – a little dome-shaped thing. A 'bad connection' could mean the plug isn't fully seated, or the wires are damaged. Look for any obvious signs of corrosion or loose wires. If you're not comfortable fiddling with it, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. I brought mine in when I had a similar problem, and they diagnosed it quickly.

I think I'll bring it to a workshop. The repair cost me 95€. At least now I have a better understanding. Really appreciate your help!
