V60 Weak Battery and Flickering Lights
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Volvo V60 owner is experiencing weak battery symptoms and flickering lights, particularly at idle. The battery connections appear fine, leading to suspicion of a faulty battery sensor. It is suggested to check the voltage across the battery terminals while the engine is running to determine if the sensor is causing issues with the charging system. If voltage instability is detected, visiting a workshop for further diagnosis and potential sensor replacement is recommended.

Thanks for the tip! I haven't checked the voltage yet while it's running, just the resting voltage. What exactly did you find with your Astra when you measured it?

Well, the voltage was all over the place, even with a new battery. Turned out the battery sensor was faulty and messing with the charging system. I would advise going to a workshop if the voltage jumps or is not stable.

Alright, sounds like that could be the issue. I'll check the running voltage, but I'll probably take it to a workshop to get the battery sensor checked out. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Hey, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old 2012 Opel Astra. Weak starts and flickering lights drove me nuts. Did you check the voltage across the battery terminals when the engine is running? It might give you a clue if the sensor is reporting the correct voltage.
