V70 Airbag Warning Light
Summary of the thread
The airbag warning light in a 2002 Volvo V70 diesel is consistently illuminated, despite the fuses being fine. This issue could be due to a defective connection, a faulty sensor, or a broken wire. A similar problem was resolved by addressing a faulty connector under a seat. It is recommended to have a workshop diagnose and fix the issue, which may involve a relatively inexpensive repair.

Thanks for the quick reply. The warning light is consistently on. No recent repairs or maintenance that would involve disconnecting any wiring. Could this be a faulty sensor?

A consistent light points to a definite fault. Since you've ruled out recent work, it sounds like a sensor issue or broken wire. My issue was a faulty connector under a seat, a pain to find. I'd recommend a workshop check. The repair shouldn't be too expensive.

Thanks for the help. I'll schedule a workshop appointment to diagnose the issue. I was quoted 95€ to fix a defective cable or plug connection. I will post the final resolution.

I had a similar experience in my V70, though not the diesel. Is the warning light consistent, or does it come and go? Any recent work done that might have involved disconnecting wiring related to the restraint system?
