V70 Alternator Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Volvo V70 is experiencing reduced engine power, warning lights, poor starting, and flickering lights, suggesting a faulty alternator. The problem could be due to a voltage drop, a bad serpentine belt, or a defective alternator. It is recommended to check the voltage drop across the battery terminals and consider having the alternator inspected and possibly replaced at a workshop.

Voltage drop, noted, will check. The battery is about 3 years old. How did you finally resolve your problem? Was it the alternator for sure?

Yeah, the battery tested fine after a charge, but the lights still flickered and power was down. Ended up being a defective generator in my case. Given your symptoms I'd say it's highly likely. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop.

Appreciate the insight! Alternator replacement confirmed at the shop. Cost 960€. Thanks for the help.

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my V70. Check for voltage drop across the battery terminals when starting. Could also be a bad serpentine belt causing the alternator to not charge correctly. How old is your battery?
