V70 Automatic Transmission Implausible Shifting

My 2013 Volvo V70 gasoline engine's automatic transmission is acting up at 149429 km. Shifting is implausible, the transmission indicator light comes on and off, and gear changes aren't smooth. Sometimes it's stuck in emergency mode. I checked for obvious issues, but could undervoltage cause this? Anyone seen this?

Undervoltage causing transmission issues seems far-fetched, but stranger things happen. What driving conditions? More often after sitting or during long trips? Have you checked the transmission fluid level and condition? Dark, burnt, or low?

The conditions vary. It happens after short and long trips. Fluid level looks normal, but I haven't analyzed its condition beyond a visual check. Could worn transmission oil alone be the problem, or is undervoltage more likely? What should I check about the fluid?

Erratic behavior is concerning. Get the transmission fluid properly checked, its condition impacts transmission performance. Undervoltage could contribute, but old fluid is more likely. A transmission flush might be due. I’d recommend a workshop visit for proper diagnosis.

Thanks. I took it to a workshop, and worn transmission oil was the culprit, probably worsened by minor electrical fluctuations. A transmission flush and oil replacement sorted it. Total cost was around 240€. Appreciate the advice!
