V70 Blower Motor AUC Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
The blower motor on a 2005 Volvo V70 diesel was not functioning, and a diagnostic scan indicated an AUC sensor fault. The initial suspicion was a cable or plug connection issue. However, it was suggested that the problem might be with the odor sensor itself, which can disable the blower motor if it detects high pollutants. After further investigation and replacement of the faulty air quality sensor, the blower motor was restored to working order.

When you mention sensor output, are you referring to a direct voltage reading from the sensor, or monitoring the signal via the diagnostic interface? Which sensor readings were out of specification?

I was referring to the values you can read with a diagnostic device. I can't remember which values were incorrect. If the sensor or wiring harness is faulty, I'd advise taking it to a workshop. That's what I did.

Took the car to a local workshop. The air quality sensor was faulty. After replacement, the blower motor now functions. Total cost, including parts and labor, came to 95€. Your input helped narrow down the issue.

Had a similar issue with my V70. Likely a fault with the odor sensor itself, not the wiring. Blower motor is disabled when the sensor indicates high pollutants. Check the sensor output before tearing into the wiring. Is your fault code specific to the sensor signal?
