V70 Brake Light Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Volvo V70 is experiencing a brake light failure warning on the dashboard and infotainment system, with an error stored in the memory. The issue occurs even with a slight touch of the brake pedal, suggesting a faulty brake light switch. Replacing the switch resolved the problem, and it was covered under warranty.

Interesting. It happens with even the slightest touch of the brake pedal, not just fully depressed. Do you think I should just replace the switch?

Given that it happens even with a slight touch, it strengthens the probability that the switch is faulty. I would go to a workshop and have it checked out, it's like going to the doctor just to be sure before self-medicating.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. It was a faulty brake light switch. Turns out, it was covered under warranty, so no cost to me!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my V70. Is it only happening when the brake pedal is fully depressed? The brake light switch can be finicky, like a light switch in an old house.
