V70 Central Locking Failure
Summary of the thread
The central locking system on a 2015 Volvo V70 is malfunctioning, specifically affecting the driver's door. The issue is suspected to be related to the door contact signal, as fuses are intact. A similar problem in another vehicle was traced to a faulty connection in the door wiring harness. The recommended solution is to have a workshop inspect the wiring, which successfully resolved the issue in this case.

Interesting! No, the car alarm isn't going off yet, but I'm leaning towards a wiring issue now. Where exactly was the faulty connection in your Astra? Was it easy to spot?

Okay, no alarm is a bit different, but still sounds like the same family of problems. Honestly, I didn't dig into it myself. The mechanic showed me the damaged plug, but it was buried deep inside the door panel. I would suggest taking it to a workshop and let them have a look at the wiring. They have the right tools and know where to look. Could be the cable or plug connection.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to the workshop as you suggested, and you were spot on – it was indeed a faulty connection in the door wiring harness! Cost me 95€ to get it sorted, but at least it's fixed. Really appreciate your help!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. The door wouldn't lock remotely and the alarm kept going off randomly. The mechanic said it was a faulty connection in the door wiring harness, specifically around the door sensor. Is your car alarm also acting up?
