V70 check engine light and stalling

I have a 2002 Volvo V70 diesel with 126716 km. Recently, the check engine light came on, and the engine occasionally stalls when idling. I've also noticed less engine power. Could this be the fuel volume regulator?

I had similar symptoms in my V70: check engine light, stalling at idle, and less power. Is it worse when the engine is cold? Have you checked for error codes?

Yes, it seems worse when the engine is cold. I haven't checked for error codes myself because I don't have the equipment. Any idea what the problem could be?

Sounds like what happened to me. I'm no mechanic, but it turned out to be a defective high-pressure pump, messing with the fuel volume regulator. Get it to a workshop to get it checked; it will save you time and stress.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was the fuel volume regulator and the high pressure pump. Repair cost was 1510€.
