V70 Crankshaft Sensor Issue

I haven't noticed any obvious misfires, but I guess it could be subtle. I haven't checked the timing chain myself – is that something I can easily do at home? The specific error code was related to crankshaft/camshaft correlation. Could this correlation problem be caused by a faulty cam sensor?

While a faulty cam sensor could be the problem, the crankshaft sensor is also a potential suspect. I strongly suggest that you have the car professionally inspected by a qualified mechanic. I delayed it, and ended up with a hefty bill in the end.

I took it to my local mechanic and, indeed, it was the crankshaft sensor. Replaced it for 340€ and now it runs as smooth as ever! I really appreciate your help!

I also drive a V70, and I had a similar issue not too long ago. Did you notice any misfires? Have you checked the timing chain? It might be stretched, causing engine synchronization issues. What error code exactly did you get?
