V70 electric seat issue

I've got a 2014 Volvo V70 diesel with only 24319 km. The passenger electric seat is playing up. Error stored, and seat adjustment is impossible. Could a heavily discharged or defective battery cause this? I've checked the seat wiring harness and everything looks ok.

Wow, that's odd on such a low mileage car! I had a similar issue with my old Vauxhall Astra, although it was the driver's seat. Was the battery actually flat at any point?

Hmm, interesting. Not completely flat, but it was struggling to start a few times recently. Could a low battery voltage mess with the seat motor or some other seat electrics?

Yep, that sounds very familiar. The garage told me that low voltage can scramble the electric seat control module. I ended up taking it to a workshop as I didn't have the right diagnostic tools. I'd recommend you do the same.

Thanks, that confirms my suspicions. It was indeed the battery. Replaced it and the seat now works fine. Total cost: 290€. Cheers for the help!
