V70 Fog Sensor Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Volvo V70 owner experienced issues with the air conditioning, spray nozzles, and mirror heating, all linked to a fog sensor error. The problem was suspected to be related to a faulty sensor or a wiring issue. After consulting with others who had similar experiences, it was confirmed that replacing the fog sensor and fixing a connection resolved the issues, restoring the vehicle's climate control functions.

Yeah, it's a pain. No other warnings besides the fog sensor one. The error memory says it's definitely that. Was your problem definitely the fog sensor too?

Okay, if the error memory says it's the fog sensor, it probably is. In my case, the issues all vanished after I had the sensor replaced. Given your symptoms and the potential wiring issue you mentioned, I'd say it's worth getting it checked out by a professional. A faulty sensor can definitely mess with the whole climate control system and those other features.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it! I took it to a workshop, and you were right – it was the fog sensor and a dodgy connection. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Everything's working fine now.

Whoa, that sounds like a mess! I have a V70 as well (though I can't remember the exact year right now), and I had similar symptoms a while back. No AC, weird issues with things freezing up... Did you check for any other dashboard warnings? Was it just the fog sensor specifically?
