V70 fuel flap fault
Summary of the thread
A 2016 V70 diesel has a fuel flap release issue, with an error message and the flap not opening, potentially affecting other functions. The problem is suspected to be a faulty linkage or actuator. Suggestions include checking the central locking system, fuses, and wiring, with a focus on the actuator as a likely cause. The issue was resolved by replacing the electric actuator and some wiring, confirming the initial suspicion.

Central locking seems fine, which is odd. If it was a fuse, wouldn't other things be affected? And if it's the earth, wouldn't that produce more widespread random faults? Any idea where the actuator is located? Trying to eliminate the easy stuff first.

Yeah, good point about the fuse. Worth checking anyway, just in case. If the central locking is fine then it's pointing towards a faulty actuator, or the wiring between the car and the fuel filler flap. I didn't fancy ripping apart the car to find out. I just took mine to a trusted workshop and they sorted it.

Appreciate the insight. I ended up taking it in. Turns out it was the electric actuator as suspected, plus some associated wiring. 210€ later and all sorted! Thanks again for confirming my suspicions.

Fuel flap issues, eh? Sounds familiar. I had something similar with my V70. Is the central locking playing up at all? It might be a fuse or a dodgy earth causing the actuator to not work properly.
