V70 Jerking Acceleration Whistling Sound
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Volvo V70 owner experienced jerking acceleration, a whistling sound, and stalling at idle, alongside increased fuel consumption and reduced engine power. These symptoms suggested a potential issue with the turbo system. After checking the connections to the boost pressure sensor, the problem was identified as a defective cable in the sensor, which was replaced, resolving the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the cable and plug connections yet, but I will now. Where exactly is the boost pressure sensor located? Is it easy to get to?

It's usually near the intake manifold. Honestly, I'm not super mechanically inclined, and I ended up taking it to a workshop. They found the defective connection pretty quickly. Saved me a lot of headache. Maybe it's worth getting it checked out?

Thanks for the advice! I checked the connections, and they seemed fine, so I took it to a shop. Turns out it was indeed a bad boost pressure sensor – a defective cable, just like you suspected! They replaced it for 95€. Runs like new now!

Hey! Sounds frustrating! I had something similar happen with my V70. Does it feel like you're losing boost? For me, the issue was a defective connection in the turbo system. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the boost pressure sensor? Where they ok?
