V70 Low Coolant Level

Hi, I have a 2011 Volvo V70 diesel with about 187k kilometers on it. Recently, the check engine light came on and the error memory indicates a low coolant level. I've checked and it is indeed low. Any ideas what might be causing this?

I had a similar issue with my V70, although I'm not sure it's the exact same. Is your cooling fan running constantly or overheating after short drives?

No, the cooling fan seems to be working normally and the engine temperature stays stable. Could it be something like a head gasket or water pump issue, even without overheating?

It's possible, but difficult to say without further diagnostics. Given the coolant loss with no obvious leaks, it's best to get it checked by a workshop to rule out more serious internal issues. Air pockets can cause false readings but only a mechanic will check the pressure.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and it turned out to be a small leak in a hose. Replacing it cost around 52€, so thankfully it wasn't anything major!
