V70 massage seat failure
Summary of the thread
The massage function in a 2005 Volvo V70 diesel stopped working, with an error indicating a seat-related issue. The initial suspicion was a defective cable or plug connection. After checking the fuses and finding no clicking sounds, it was suggested that the problem might be a wiring issue specific to the seat. A workshop visit confirmed a defective plug connection, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

Fuses seem fine. No clicking sounds at all, it's completely dead. When you say 'electrical gremlins', could other electrical parts be affected?

Electrical gremlins is just a general term for weird electrical problems that are hard to track down. It's unlikely to affect other parts if it's just the seat, but you never know! Since you've checked the fuse, and there are no sounds, it does sound like a wiring issue specific to the seat. Time to take it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed.

Took it to the shop, and you were right, it was a defective plug connection. Repair cost was 95€. All sorted now!

That sounds annoying! A massage seat is one of those things you don't realize how much you like until it stops working. Defective cables and plugs can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins. Did you check the fuse for the seat? It might be a simple fix. Any clicking sounds when you try to turn the massage function on, or is it completely dead?
