V70 Misfire Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Volvo V70 is experiencing combustion misfires, with symptoms like rough engine running, check engine light, jerking during acceleration, and reduced power. The initial suspicion was a defective injection valve or injector. Suggestions included checking ignition coils and cleaning the throttle body, as these could also cause similar symptoms. Ultimately, a workshop visit confirmed a defective injector, leading to its repair.

Thank you for the suggestions. Could a faulty ignition coil or dirty throttle body truly mimic the effects of a defective fuel injector? I had assumed the problem was more directly related to fuel delivery.

Well, it's not exactly the same, but a bad coil can definitely cause misfires and make the engine run rough, just like a fuel injector problem would. And yeah, a dirty throttle body can affect the air/fuel mixture. Honestly, with those symptoms, I'd take it to a workshop and have them run a proper diagnostic. Could save you a lot of guessing and swapping parts.

Understood. I appreciate the advice. A workshop visit confirmed a defective injector, repair cost 515€ Thank you.

Hey, I had similar issues with my V70. Sounds like a cylinder misfire. I'd check your ignition coils first; a failing coil can cause all those symptoms. Also, when was the last time you cleaned your throttle body? A dirty one can mess with throttle response.
