V70 MOST bus fault

My 2002 Volvo V70 with a gasoline engine is showing a MOST bus fault. Symptoms include no audio output, a non-functional audio system, and a navigation system that doesn't work. The error is also stored in the error memory. I suspect a defect in one of the control units installed in the MOST bus. Any ideas?

I have a V70 as well and experienced similar issues. By any chance, does it affect other systems connected to that MOST bus network? A faulty control unit could disrupt communication across the entire network.

Indeed. I have the impression, but I am not sure. I don't know how to troubleshoot that. How did you solve your problem?

Unfortunately, it was indeed a faulty control unit, as suspected. Given the complexity of the MOST bus, I would suggest a workshop with experience in car electronics checks the control units. The repair was quite expensive.

Thanks for the confirmation. I took it to the workshop, and the diagnosis confirms a defective control unit on the MOST bus. Repair cost will be around 1000€. Expensive, but at least the problem is clear.
