V70 Speedometer Error Battery Drain
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Volvo V70 diesel exhibited issues with the speedometer showing error messages, flickering lights, and a drained battery, leading to weak engine starts. A battery sensor, huh? Where is that located, and how would I check if that's the culprit? And yeah, cold starts have been rough lately.

It's usually near the battery or integrated into the battery terminal. Honestly, without proper tools, it's hard to diagnose. Given the error messages and weak battery, a workshop is probably the best bet. They can test the sensor and battery properly.

Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – faulty battery sensor! Cost me 315€ to fix, but at least it's sorted now. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my V70. Check the battery sensor; a defective one can cause the battery to discharge heavily. Does your car have problems starting, particularly in cold weather?
