V70 Stalling at Idle
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Volvo V70 is experiencing stalling at idle, particularly when cold, with the check engine light on. Diagnostic codes suggest a faulty idle air control valve, and there may be heavy contamination in the intake. Cleaning the throttle body is recommended as a potential solution, but ultimately, replacing the idle air control valve and addressing the intake contamination resolved the issue.

Good call on the throttle body! I'll give that a look. My V70 has 210463 km on the clock. Did cleaning the throttle body solve the stalling, or was there more to it?

Cleaning the throttle body helped temporarily, but the problem returned quickly. Eventually, I had to replace the idle air control valve. Given your mileage and symptoms, a visit to a workshop might be wise to confirm the diagnosis and avoid further issues.

Thanks a bunch for the advice! Turns out you were spot on. Took it to the shop, and they confirmed it was the idle air control valve and a seriously gunked-up intake. Cost me 425€ to get it sorted, but she's running like a dream now. Appreciate the help!

I had similar issues with my V70. Check the throttle body for buildup. A dirty throttle body can mimic a bad idle air control valve. How many kilometers are on your car?
