V70 Transmission Oil Pressure Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Volvo V70 diesel is experiencing a transmission oil pressure sensor fault, leading to MIL illumination, error codes, gearbox emergency mode, slipping, and grinding. The suspected cause is low transmission oil. After checking the fluid level and confirming the issue at a shop, it was resolved by adding oil and replacing the sensor.

Yeah, I've checked the level, and it seems okay, but I don't have a dipstick, so it's hard to be sure. Did you experience similar shifting problems?

Definitely sounds familiar. The slipping and grinding noises were almost identical. I'd suggest taking it to a shop to get it properly diagnosed, just to be safe.

Thanks. You were right – low oil. A shop visit confirmed it; cost me 365€ to get it sorted, including a new sensor. Appreciate the help.

Had similar symptoms on my old Saab 9-3. Turned out to be low transmission fluid in my case. Have you checked the fluid level?
