V70 Undervoltage Error
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Volvo V70 was experiencing an undervoltage error, leading to poor starting, failing systems, weak and flickering lights, and a seemingly weak battery. The suspected cause was a heavily discharged or defective battery. It was suggested to check for corrosion or loose connections at the battery terminals and measure the battery voltage, which should be around 12.6 volts when off. After testing, the battery was found to be defective and was replaced, resolving the issue.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the battery terminals, and they seemed okay, but I'll double-check for corrosion. As for the voltage, I haven't measured it yet. Where exactly should I measure it, and what voltage should I be looking for? Is there anything else that could cause this?

Yeah, double check the terminals to be completely sure, even hidden corrosion can cause problems. The voltage should be measured directly at the battery terminals. A healthy battery should read around 12.6 volts when off. If it's significantly lower, especially after sitting overnight, it's likely the battery. Given all your symptoms, and if the terminals are clean, I'd say get the battery health checked at a workshop. It might be time for a new one.

Thanks a lot for your help! I took your advice and had the battery tested at a local workshop, and you were spot on. It was heavily discharged and defective. They replaced it, and the problem is now solved. The repair cost me 290€. Really appreciate the help!

Hey there! I had a similar problem with my V70, although mine manifested a bit differently. Have you checked the battery terminals for corrosion or loose connections? Also, what's the battery voltage reading when the car is off? It could be a voltage drop somewhere. It's like having a leaky pipe, slowly draining the power.
