V90 AdBlue Tank Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Volvo V90 diesel owner experienced an issue where the AdBlue tank showed as empty despite being recently filled, leading to an error message and the engine not starting. The problem was suspected to be a defective AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit. A similar case confirmed that the issue was indeed with the AdBlue output, requiring a pump replacement. The solution involved professional repair, which resolved the problem.

Fuel efficiency seemed normal, and no other alerts popped up before this AdBlue madness. What exactly was the issue with yours? Was it definitely the output from the tank?

Yes, that was the root cause in my case. The workshop confirmed that the AdBlue output was defective and the pump needed replacing. I would strongly advise getting it checked by a professional, as messing with the SCR system can be tricky. You could end up causing more damage.

I appreciate the advice. Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. The AdBlue output from the tank was indeed defective, as suspected. New pump fitted, cost me about 250€. At least it's sorted!

I had a similar experience with my V90. The error messages and refusal to start are classic symptoms. The SCR catalyst system is very sensitive. Did you notice any change in fuel efficiency or any dashboard alerts before the AdBlue issue became critical? It's like a domino effect – one small issue can trigger a cascade of problems.
