V90 Automatic Locks Not Working

Having trouble with my 2020 Volvo V90 diesel. At 229539 km, the automatic locks have gone haywire – the doors simply refuse to lock or unlock. Could this be a faulty door contact signal causing the entire system to malfunction? Anyone else encountered something similar?

Strange! I also have a V90, and ran into a similar problem last year. I couldn't lock my car either. You reckon it's the door switch? I wonder if the wiring harness could be the culprit instead?

Interesting that you mention the wiring harness... that's what I suspect as well. Was your issue intermittent at first, or did it fail completely? And were there any other symptoms besides the locking failure?

Yes, I remember that! It did start intermittently. But eventually, it just stopped working altogether. I had no other symptoms, just the door locks not responding. I would recommend you to visit the workshop to rule out any serious damage.

Turns out, as suspected, it was indeed a defective cable/plug connection! A quick 95€ at the repair shop, and my V90 is back to its old self. Thanks a bunch for confirming the possible cause, it saved me a lot of unnecessary diagnostics!
