Encoder wheel? I just thought it was a bad sensor. How did you figure out it was the wheel and not just the sensor itself?

The error code indicated a camshaft position sensor malfunction, however, a mechanic's inspection revealed the encoder wheel as the root cause. It is advisable to seek a professional diagnosis to ascertain the precise nature of the issue. Continuing to operate the vehicle in its current state could potentially exacerbate the problem.

Thanks for the insight. Took it to the workshop, and you were right. Defective encoder wheel on the camshaft. Repair cost is 695€. Appreciate the help!

Greetings. I experienced comparable symptoms with my V90. Have you had the engine control system assessed for error codes? In my situation, the encoder wheel on the camshafts was defective. This induced a sensor failure, leading to ignition timing irregularities and subsequent stalling. Is your vehicle exhibiting comparable error patterns?
