V90 Check Engine Light Air Valve
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Volvo V90 hybrid displayed a check engine light, suspected to be related to an air valve issue following a rough idle. Initial checks for vacuum leaks, such as loose hoses, revealed nothing obvious. The problem was eventually traced to a defective hose connection from the pump to the valve, which was confirmed and repaired at a workshop.

Just occasionally, that's what's weird. The light's on solid now, though. Thinking maybe it's the hose connection from the pump to the valve itself? Any thoughts on how to get to that?

If it's intermittent, it's likely a small leak. The hose connection sounds like a good place to start, but honestly, those things can be tricky to pinpoint without proper equipment. Maybe best to have a workshop take a peek, especially with the hybrid system involved.

Yeah, you're probably right. Bit the bullet and took it in. Turns out the hose connection from pump to valve was indeed defective, just like I thought. Repair cost me 175€ Thanks for the advice!

Hmm, check engine light with a possible air valve issue on a hybrid... could be a small vacuum leak. Are you noticing any other symptoms besides the light? Like, is the idle consistently rough, or just occasionally?
