V90 Diesel Cold Start Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Volvo V90 diesel is experiencing poor engine performance during cold starts, along with increased fuel consumption and a stored error code. The issue is suspected to be related to the PTC heater, as the car takes longer to warm up and runs rough only when cold. A diagnostic check at a workshop confirmed the electric auxiliary heater as the problem, and a repair has been quoted at 350€.

Yeah, it takes longer to heat up. Rough running only happens during those first few minutes. You think it's definitely the electric auxiliary heater then?

Based on that, it really does sound like the PTC heater is the culprit. To be 100% sure, a diagnostic check would confirm it, but I'd say that's highly likely. Getting it checked at a workshop would be wise to confirm.

Thanks. Dropped it at the shop. They confirmed it's the electric auxiliary heater. Quoted 350€ for the repair. Will get it sorted.

Hmm, a failing PTC heater could explain those symptoms, especially the cold start and fuel consumption issues. Is the car taking longer to warm up than usual? And is the engine running rough only when it's cold, or does it persist?
