V90 diesel glow control unit issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Volvo V90 diesel is experiencing issues with the preheating lamp staying on, the check engine light illuminated, and smoke from the exhaust during acceleration. A diagnostic test identified the glow control unit as the problem. Possible causes include a faulty glow control unit or a bad cable or plug connection. It is suggested to have a technician inspect the glow control unit and connections for a proper resolution.

Thanks! Yes, the problem is worse during cold starts. Do you remember what your diagnostic test said and how it was fixed?

Yes, that's exactly how it was for me. The diagnostic pointed to the glow control unit as well. I'm no mechanic, but it might be better to let the workshop take a look. In my case the mechanic said it was a cable issue. Cost me about 95€ to fix.

Thanks for sharing. I'll get a technician to check the glow control unit and connections.

Hello, I also have a V90. I experienced something similar not too long ago. The engine light was on and the car seemed to be running rough, almost like it wanted to stall when accelerating. Did you notice if the problem occurs more when the engine is cold, like first thing in the morning?
