V90 diesel glow control unit issue

I've got a 2019 Volvo V90 diesel. The preheating lamp stays on, the check engine light is on, and there's smoke from the exhaust when I accelerate. A diagnostic test said it's the glow control unit. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm at 188603 km. Could it be a bad cable or plug connection?

Hello, I also have a V90. I experienced something similar not too long ago. The engine light was on and the car seemed to be running rough, almost like it wanted to stall when accelerating. Did you notice if the problem occurs more when the engine is cold, like first thing in the morning?

Yes, that's exactly how it was for me. The diagnostic pointed to the glow control unit as well. I'm no mechanic, but it might be better to let the workshop take a look. In my case the mechanic said it was a cable issue. Cost me about 95€ to fix.
