V90 High Voltage System Error

Alright, I'm officially stressed. I've got a 2023 Volvo V90 hybrid, and just hit 206384 km. Today, a 'High Voltage System Error' message popped up. The engine just shuts off randomly, and sometimes I get a 'Reduced Engine Power' warning beforehand. I scanned for codes, and there's an error stored, but I don't have the equipment to dig deeper into the high-voltage system. I've checked all the regular stuff, like making sure everything is plugged in properly, but nothing seems obviously loose or damaged. Anyone else seen anything like this?

Sounds like an electrical fault. Have you had any battery warnings recently?

No specific battery warnings besides the 'High Voltage System Error' message. Is there a specific area of the electrical wiring I should check?

Probably the battery itself. Given the symptoms and error message, plus the mileage, it points to a heavily discharged or defective battery. You'll need a workshop to test it.

Thanks. I took it to the workshop as suggested. Turns out you were right; the battery was heavily discharged. They replaced a faulty module, and the error is gone. Cost me 290€, but at least it's sorted!
