V90 Intake Air Temperature Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Volvo V90 hybrid exhibited issues such as the check engine light being on, feeling underpowered, and running rough, with an OBD reader indicating a fault with the intake air temperature sensor. The problem was suspected to be related to the sensor. It was suggested to check the sensor's wiring and connections for damage or corrosion and verify the sensor's readings. Upon inspection, the wiring was fine, and a workshop confirmed the sensor was defective, leading to its replacement, which resolved the issues.

Thanks! Didn't think about the wiring. I'll check it tomorrow. What should the intake air temperature be roughly when the engine is cold?

If the engine is cold, the intake air temperature reading should be close to the ambient air temperature. A big difference, especially if it's very high or low, suggests a faulty sensor. Given the symptoms and error code, if the wiring's okay, best to take it to a workshop.

Just to let you know, you were right! Wiring was fine. Shop confirmed the intake air temperature sensor was defective. Replaced it for 155€ and now it runs like new. Thanks for the advice!

I had similar symptoms with my V90. Start by checking the sensor's wiring and connections for damage or corrosion. Also, check the sensor's readings using a diagnostic tool. What readings are you getting from the sensor?
