V90 Jerking Acceleration Reduced Power

I own a 2021 Volvo V90 with a diesel engine. I am experiencing jerking during acceleration, the check engine light is on, and engine power is reduced. The engine also stalls at idle and runs rough, accompanied by a strong exhaust smell. An error is stored in the error memory. Could this be related to the air intake?
