V90 Jerking Acceleration Reduced Power
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Volvo V90 with a diesel engine is experiencing jerking during acceleration, reduced power, stalling at idle, rough running, and a strong exhaust smell, with an error stored in the memory. These symptoms may be related to a leaking intake manifold, which disrupts the air-fuel mixture, causing misfires and poor engine performance. A workshop visit confirmed a defective intake manifold due to scorching, and repairing it resolved the issues.

Thank you for the information. Can you elaborate on how a leaking intake manifold could result in these symptoms?

A leak in the intake manifold is like a hole in a flute. It disrupts the air-fuel mixture, leading to misfires and poor engine performance. I would advise a workshop visit.

Thank you for the confirmation. The workshop confirmed a defective intake manifold due to scorching, and the repair cost was 1180€. This has resolved the issues.

I had a similar issue with my V90. It sounds like your symptoms are a match. Have you checked the intake manifold for leaks? A scorched manifold can cause those problems.
