V90 Loss of Power and Jerking
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Volvo V90 diesel with 214,670 km is experiencing a loss of power, rough engine performance, and jerking during acceleration, accompanied by a check engine light. The issue is suspected to be related to a lean running condition, possibly due to a defective injector. Suggestions include checking the air-fuel ratio, inspecting the fuel injectors, EGR valve, and throttle body, as these components can affect the air-fuel mixture. The problem was confirmed to be a defective injector, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

Thanks for the quick response. Did you also experience the jerking when accelerating? And did the check engine light come on as well?

Yes, the jerking during acceleration and the check engine light were definitely present. Given the mileage, it's quite possible the injectors are starting to fail. While you could try some DIY diagnostics, it's probably best to have a workshop take a look. Could be something related to the catalytic converter, but most likely is something with the fuel injection system.

Thanks, I appreciate the confirmation. I took it to a workshop, and you were right. It turned out to be a defective injector. The repair cost me 515€, but the car is running smoothly again.

I had similar symptoms in my V90. Reduced power and rough running. Have you checked the air-fuel ratio? It might be worth investigating the fuel injectors, but also consider the EGR valve and throttle body. These components can influence the air-fuel mixture.
