V90 Reduced Engine Power
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Volvo V90 diesel experienced reduced engine power and an error message, suspected to be related to the engine control unit (ECU). A suggestion was made to check the main relay, a common cause of ECU issues. After visiting a workshop, it was confirmed that the main relay was indeed the problem, and repairing it resolved the issue.

Thanks! Where exactly is that relay located, and is it something I can check myself without special tools?

While you might be able to locate it, diagnosing it properly requires some tools. I would suggest visiting a trusted workshop. In my case, it definitely solved the issue. Good luck!

You were spot on! Took it to the shop, they confirmed it was indeed the main relay causing the ECU to act up. Cost me 120€ for the repair. Runs like a charm now! Thanks a million!

I had similar issues with my V90. Check the main relay. It's a common culprit for ECU problems. Is the car struggling to start, or is it just down on power once it's running?
