V90 rough idle and power loss

Hi, I'm having some trouble with my 2020 Volvo V90 gasoline engine. It's got around 155987 km on it. Recently, it's been starting poorly, the fuel consumption seems higher than usual, and I've noticed reduced engine power. Also, the engine idles unevenly and even stalls sometimes when idling. Could a dirty injection valve be the reason?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my V90. Have you checked for any misfires? Clogging in the injection system can definitely cause those issues, especially with higher mileage. Could even be a diesel issue, though that's less likely with a gasoline engine.

Thanks for the reply! I haven't checked for misfires specifically, but the symptoms seem to align. What exactly was the issue with your V90 when you experienced these symptoms?

Turns out, a defective injection nozzle was the culprit. The workshop confirmed that a faulty injection valve was causing the misfires and other performance issues. Cost me around 515€ to get it sorted. I'd recommend getting it checked out professionally.

Thanks for the insight! I appreciate you sharing your experience. I'll take it to a shop to get the injection system checked. Hopefully, that will solve the issue.
