V90 Suspension Error
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Volvo V90 hybrid experienced a suspension error and warning light related to damping adjustment, resulting in a bumpy ride. Diagnostics suggested the issue might be due to a cable or plug problem. A similar issue in another vehicle was caused by a faulty sensor affecting suspension adjustments. The solution involved professional inspection and replacement of a bad plug connection, resolving the problem and restoring normal ride quality.

Yeah, my V90 has adjustable driving modes that affect the suspension. The problem seems to be there no matter what mode I'm in. Could you tell me more about the sensor problem you had?

The sensor was sending bad signals, messing up the suspension adjustments. Sounds like our issues are similar. Since your diagnostics point to a cable or connection, a professional should check it out. Suspension work can be risky. A diagnostic check shouldn't be too expensive.

Thanks for the help! Took it to a Volvo shop, and it was a bad plug connection, just like we thought. Replaced it for 95€, including the diagnostic check. Ride's back to normal, and the warning light is gone.

I had something similar with my 2016 BMW 3 series once. Warning light, bumpy ride, the works. Turned out to be a sensor in the adaptive suspension. Does your Volvo have adjustable suspension settings like comfort and sport? Notice if it's worse in certain modes?
