Coolant level is fine. Engine temp seems normal. Was your issue definitely the water valve or something else?

Given your description and the error code, it points to a faulty water valve or a connection problem as you suspected. Given your expertise, I'd recommend checking the connections first. If that doesn't resolve it, a workshop visit is probably in order. Replacement looks unavoidable.

Thanks for the confirmation. It was indeed the water valve. Replaced it, and the heating is back to normal. Total cost 95€.

I had a similar issue with my V90. Heating was intermittent, and there was definitely an error code. Did you check the engine coolant level? Also, is the engine reaching operating temperature normally?
