Vanette Air Suspension Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Nissan Vanette with air suspension issues is experiencing a failure to lift and leaning, accompanied by a warning light and speedometer message. The suspected cause is a faulty cable or plug to the compressor. After ruling out air leaks and considering wiring faults, the problem was identified as a corroded connector to the compressor, which was cleaned to restore functionality.

I visually inspected the lines, but no obvious leaks. The error isn't descriptive, just indicates a general compressor malfunction. I'm leaning toward a wiring fault, or perhaps the compressor itself. Was your issue also intermittent, and can you elaborate?

Mine wasn't intermittent; the compressor eventually gave up entirely. If the error is vague and you've ruled out leaks, a defective cable is likely. Given parts costs, visit a workshop and check your wiring before condemning the compressor. It's almost certain the compressor is broken though.

Thanks. It was a corroded connector to the compressor, as suspected. Cleaned it, and the system works again. Total cost was 95€ for the mechanic to take a look.

Sounds familiar. Air suspension, right? Did you check for air leaks around the compressor or lines? Suspension malfunction can cause load leveling and compressor failure. Is the error code specific?
