Vanette Bluetooth Pairing Issue

Having issues with my 2000 Nissan Vanette, diesel engine. It has done 175418 km. Experiencing weird function restrictions. My smartphone simply cannot connect to the car's system, and a diagnostic check shows an error. Wondering if anyone else has encountered this? Suspect it might be related to incorrect phone pairing, but not sure where to start troubleshooting. Any ideas?

That sounds tricky. With those symptoms, incorrect pairing seems plausible, but electrical faults can be deceptive. Have you tried connecting other devices, or is it strictly your smartphone that's giving you trouble? Do you know what the error code in the memory is? That info could really narrow things down.

Thanks for the quick reply! Haven't tried connecting any other devices, I'll give that a shot. As for the error code, I should have written it down, shouldn't I? Is there any way to retrieve it without hooking it up to a computer again?

Without the code, it's like diagnosing in the dark! Some systems might store the last few errors, but it varies. Given that it's affecting connectivity, and considering the error code mystery, I would suggest getting a proper diagnostic check at a workshop. It might save you a lot of headaches chasing ghosts. For such an old car, electrical faults are common.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to the shop, and you were right. It turns out the Bluetooth module had a glitch that was causing the pairing issues. They reset the module and installed new firmware. Cost me 45€, but at least it's working now! Appreciate the help!
