Vauxhall Adam AC failure

Cheers! I did check the refrigerant pressure, and it seems okay, or at least not critically low. When your Volvo did that, was it the compressor itself that failed, or something else upstream? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth replacing the compressor myself, or if I'm chasing a dodgy control unit.

In my case, after a lot of diagnostics, it turned out to be the AC control unit. The system wasn't sending the signal to engage the compressor. Based on your symptoms and that error code, and the fact that the refrigerant pressure seems ok, I'd say it's highly likely your AC control unit is faulty. I would suggest a visit to a workshop to rule out other problems before throwing parts at it. They should have proper diagnostic tools.

Massive thanks for the insight! Sounds like a trip to the shop is in order. It was the AC control unit after all, just like you suspected. Cost me 980€ to get it sorted, but at least I'm cool again!

That does sound rather familiar! I had a similar cooling system failure in my old Volvo V70 a few years back. Similar symptoms: error codes, no cooling, system refusing to engage. Have you checked the refrigerant pressure? A low refrigerant level can prevent the compressor from engaging as a safety measure.
