Vauxhall Adam Automatic Transmission Issue

I'm having a weird issue with my 2017 Vauxhall Adam (gasoline engine). It's done about 107000 km. The automatic transmission is acting up, especially in park. The engine won't start, the check engine light's on, the gearbox is slipping, shifts are rough, and there's an error code. Could it be the control unit? Anyone else seen this?

Sounds like a real headache. I've got an Adam myself and went through something similar last year. Wouldn't start sometimes, and the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. Did you check the shift lock? Mine was acting up, like a sticky door latch, preventing the car from recognizing it was in Park or Neutral.

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me more about the shift lock symptoms you had and how you checked it? How did you know that was the problem, or was it just a guess?

Basically, it was intermittent. Some days it was fine, others it was like the car was possessed. Jiggling the gear stick sometimes worked, sometimes not. Honestly, I ended up taking it to a workshop; they plugged it in and confirmed it was something to do with the transmission control. Saved me a lot of guesswork.

I appreciate the help. I think I'll take it to a workshop for a proper check. With the control unit possibly being the problem and a repair possibly costing 1000€, getting it checked out professionally seems best. Thanks again.
