Vauxhall Adam boost pressure sensor issue

I'm experiencing issues with my 2013 Vauxhall Adam (gasoline engine) with 196322 km. The check engine light is on, and the car jerks when accelerating. There's also a whistling and loud hissing sound when accelerating, like air escaping. Sometimes the engine stalls at idle. Fuel consumption is higher, and engine power is reduced. I suspect a bad boost pressure sensor. The cable or plug connection looks defective. Any thoughts?

I had a similar issue with my Adam. The check engine light and loss of power are worrying signs. Does the hissing sound seem to come from the turbo area? A faulty boost pressure sensor could be the culprit, especially if you suspect the wiring.

Yes, the hissing seems to be coming from somewhere around the turbo area. What exactly was your issue, and how did you resolve it? Was it also the boost pressure sensor, or something else?

Yes, it was indeed the boost pressure sensor in my case. Given your symptoms and the location of the hissing, I'd say it's highly likely. However, I'm not a mechanic. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to confirm and get it properly fixed. Better safe than sorry when it comes to the turbo system.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local workshop. You were spot on – it was the boost pressure sensor. They replaced it, and the total repair cost was 95€. The car is running smoothly again. I appreciate your help!
