Vauxhall Adam Control Unit Communication Error
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Vauxhall Adam experienced a control unit communication error, leading to engine overheating, a check engine light, and coolant leakage due to excessive cooling system pressure. Diagnostics suggested a defective cable or plug connection as the cause. A local shop confirmed a defective plug connection, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

Indeed. The diagnostic tool registered a communication fault, but I suspect a hardware defect. Was your issue resolved by software recalibration alone, or was there any component replacement involved?

Honestly, I tried a bunch of stuff, but nothing really fixed it permanently. Ended up just taking it to a workshop. They seemed to think it might've been a wiring issue somewhere. Best to get it checked properly.

Understood. Thank you for the insight. Following your suggestion, a local shop identified a defective plug connection, as suspected. Repair cost was 95€. The system is now operating within normal parameters.

Whoa, sounds rough. I have an Adam too and had something similar happen last year. Did you happen to pull any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)? Mine was a weird software glitch that kept throwing a communication fault between the control module and some other sensors.
