Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't noticed any strong fuel smells, but I'll definitely check those hoses. Where exactly is the tank ventilation valve located? Is it something I can easily access myself, or does it require special tools or a lift?

The tank ventilation valve is typically located near the fuel tank, often accessible from underneath the vehicle. Given your description and the potential for complexities within the EVAP system, I would advise caution against undertaking this repair without the proper tools and diagnostic equipment. A clogged hose is a likely culprit, but issues can get more complex. For instance, a faulty valve could be the cause. It may be prudent to have a qualified technician diagnose the system to pinpoint the exact cause and prevent unintended consequences. Expect a repair bill in the neighborhood of 175€.

Thanks again for the detailed explanation. I appreciate the advice! I took it to my local shop, and you were spot on. It turned out to be a clogged hose in the EVAP system. They replaced it and the car is running smoothly again. The final bill came to 175€, just like you predicted!

Greetings. Your symptoms suggest a potential issue with the tank ventilation valve, which is part of the EVAP system. The stalling you're experiencing, coupled with the check engine light, points towards an incorrect air/fuel mixture due to improper ventilation of the fuel tank. Consider inspecting the hoses connected to the valve for any signs of clogging or damage. A restricted airflow can indeed trigger these issues. Have you noticed any unusual fuel smells lately?
