Vauxhall Adam Error Memory Lock
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Vauxhall Adam is experiencing an "Error memory lock" with an additional symptom of undervoltage warnings. The issue may be linked to battery problems or ECU faults. While replacing the battery is considered, it might not resolve the problem, suggesting a potential ECU issue. The recommended solution is to have a professional diagnostic and repair, as similar cases have required workshop intervention.

Yeah, exactly! Vague is an understatement. I cleared the codes, but it pops right back, same message. The undervoltage thing is constant as well. Thinking of biting the bullet and replacing the battery, but it seems like a long shot and I don't want to throw money away when it could be an ECU fault. So, did you have any other problems that might point to memory corruption?

Sounds familiar. Yeah, I chased shadows for a while with similar symptoms. New battery didn't fix it for me. Ultimately, a trip to the workshop was the only answer. Bite the bullet and get ready to hear some colorful prices. But I think that's the only way for it.

Appreciate the insight. Looks like I'm heading to the shop then. Just got quoted 240€ for diagnostic and repair, allegedly related to the undervoltage causing the memory lock. Hopefully, that's the end of it. Thanks again!

Adam owner here, though mine's a bit newer. That 'error stored' message is infuriatingly vague, isn't it? Undervoltage points to battery issues, but lock active suggests computer trouble. Did you check for other fault codes? Sometimes it hides more specific ones. Or is this all you're seeing?
