Vauxhall Adam Heavy Steering

Yes, exactly! The effort is much greater at low speeds, and it does feel like something is fighting against me. I haven't noticed any warning lights specifically, but where is the steering angle sensor located, and is this something I can fix myself?

I am not sure about the exact location. The fault might be a corrupted coding in the steering angle sensor. Replacing the sensor may not fix your problem if the coding procedure following the replacement is not done properly. Given the symptoms and potential fault reasons I'd strongly advise getting it checked out at a workshop. It can affect your traction control and electronic stability. I took it to a trusted mechanic.

Thanks a lot for your help. I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. The steering angle sensor was faulty and the coding was corrupted. They replaced it, performed the needed coding, and now it's all sorted. Cost me 195€. Appreciate the advice!

Sounds like a faulty steering angle sensor. I had similar issues with my Adam. Increased effort when steering, especially at low speeds? Does it feel like something's fighting against you when you turn the wheel? Also, does your electronic stability control warning light illuminate sometimes? The system uses the steering angle sensor to determine where the car is heading and if the coding is corrupted this could cause those symptoms because the ECU doesn't know exactly the steering wheel position.
