Fuel injector connections, eh? Where exactly are they located, and what should I be looking for? I'm not exactly a mechanic...

The fuel injectors are located on the engine, connected to the fuel rail. Inspect the cable and plug connections for corrosion, damage, or loose fit. However, the diagnostic pointed clearly to this, so I am not sure if it's the same case for you. For the average consumer checking the injection system for faults requires specific knowledge/equipment. I would advise taking your car to a professional workshop for appropriate diagnostic analyses of the injection system.

Thanks! Took your advice and had it checked. Turns out a dodgy connection on the fuel injector was the culprit, causing the whole injection system to go haywire! Cost me 95€ to fix. Appreciate your help!

I had something similar with my Vauxhall Adam (petrol). High fuel consumption and a rough idle. Have you checked the cable or plug connections to the fuel injectors? A defective connection can cause all sorts of issues with the injection system, leading to those symptoms.
