Vauxhall Adam oil pressure warning light

Alright Adam drivers, my 2012 Vauxhall Adam with a gasoline engine is throwing a fit. The oil pressure warning lamp lights up, and I'm getting a warning light on the dash. My code reader says it's the engine oil temperature sensor. I checked the wiring – looks okay, but maybe the plug is bad? Any ideas before I start tearing things apart?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Adam. Was getting some weird readings and dash lights flickering. Have you checked the sensor itself? Maybe it's just faulty.

You mean like, pull the sensor and test it? I'm not sure how to do that exactly. What readings were you getting before the lights started going crazy?

Yeah, testing it might be tricky without the right tools. I didn't test mine, just took it to a shop in the end. If the wiring looks fine and it's throwing a code, it's probably the sensor itself playing up. Best to get it checked professionally, could save you a bigger headache down the line.

Thanks for the advice! You were spot on. Took it to the shop, and the error code was correct: faulty oil temp sensor. Turns out it was a dodgy connection. 95€ later, and she's running smooth again. Cheers!
