Vauxhall Adam start stop fault

Hi, I've got a 2016 Vauxhall Adam with a gasoline engine, and the start-stop system is acting up. It's done 44106 km. The engine shuts off as it should, but there's an error stored, and the warning light pops up. It feels like the system isn't behaving normally. Any thoughts? I've seen things online suggesting it could be the battery, especially since start-stop puts extra strain on it.

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Vauxhall Adam too, though I can't remember exactly what year it is. Is the battery light on as well? I think the start-stop is super sensitive to the battery's health. If the car thinks the battery isn't up to scratch, it disables the system to save power and avoid getting stranded.

Thanks! No, the battery light isn't on, just the general warning light along with the start-stop error. If it was a battery issue for you, what exactly was the problem and how did you fix it?

Well, without testing I can't be sure it's the same problem. For me, it turned out the battery was on its way out. I'd recommend getting your battery checked at a workshop. They'll be able to tell you if it's holding enough charge to run the start-stop system reliably.

Cheers, that's really helpful. I'll get the battery checked out ASAP. Knowing it was a similar issue for you gives me a good place to start. Thanks again!
