Vauxhall Adam Starting Problem

Thanks for the quick reply. The error code appears consistently during each scan. Could you tell me where the earth strap is located?

Right, consistent error points to a more definite fault then. The earth strap usually bolts onto the chassis near the battery tray, and then onto the engine block itself, often near the starter motor. Since the error doesn't come and go, and you've checked the basics, it might be time to get a multimeter out and start tracing the circuit, or bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. I ended up doing the latter, saved me a load of hassle in the long run.

I agree. I think I'll take it to a workshop. Thanks for your help. For anyone else with this issue, the garage said it was a defective cable or plug connection. The bill was 95€, which was the estimated cost.

Sounds familiar. I drive a Vauxhall Adam too. Had a similar issue, car just wouldn't crank. Have you checked the main earth strap from the battery to the chassis? Sometimes they corrode and cause electrical issues. Also, give the plug connections on the starter motor a good look. They can get gunked up and cause intermittent issues. Is the error always present, or does it come and go?
